Mt Zion Laundry ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website and provides laundry services including self-service laundry, wash-dry-fold, and pickup & delivery. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have — including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers — your name, email address, and phone number when you submit our contact form, sign up for marketing emails, or place an order through our point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Order and commercial information — order numbers, order status, laundry weight, order totals, service type (drop-off or pickup & delivery), pickup/ready-by dates, payment status, account balances, store credit, rewards points, transaction history, and downloadable invoice details, received from our POS and online ordering systems.
  • Customer profile information — company, address, home store, customer preferences, tags, service instructions, and account or loyalty status maintained in our POS or customer-management tools.
  • Phone verification data — when you use our online order tracker, we collect the phone number you enter and send a one-time verification code by SMS to confirm you are the account holder. We also log limited verification-attempt data, such as time, success status, and IP address, to prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Communications — messages you send us through the contact form, email, phone, or SMS, along with your notification and marketing preferences.
  • Delivery information — pickup and delivery addresses and related instructions when you schedule pickup & delivery service.
  • Usage and security data — standard technical information collected automatically when you visit this website, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and administrative login records. Authorized staff login records may include account name, email, IP address, time, and whether master access was used.
  • Integration records — technical event and synchronization records received from our POS, online ordering, delivery, and communications providers, which may include copies of relevant order or customer fields needed to troubleshoot and maintain those services.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, or health information), and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our laundry services;
  • Process, track, and update you on your orders, including SMS order-status verification;
  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form or other channels;
  • Send marketing and promotional communications to customers who have consented and honor notification preferences (you may opt out at any time);
  • Generate downloadable order invoices or summaries at your request;
  • Schedule and fulfill pickup & delivery service, including through third-party delivery partners;
  • Create internal business reports and aggregated analytics about revenue, service mix, customer activity, fulfillment methods, and integration health;
  • Synchronize, reconcile, and troubleshoot records exchanged with our POS and other service providers;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues (for example, rate-limiting verification attempts and reviewing administrative login history);
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. SMS / Text Message Terms

By entering your phone number in our order tracker, you consent to receive a one-time SMS verification code. Message and data rates may apply. These are transactional messages, not marketing. We will not send you marketing text messages without your separate express consent. Reply STOP to opt out where applicable.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — including our POS and online ordering provider, SMS verification provider, email delivery provider, and website hosting provider;
  • Delivery partners (such as on-demand courier services) solely as needed to fulfill pickup & delivery orders you request;
  • Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property;
  • A successor business in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Cookies & Similar Technologies

This website uses only essential cookies and browser storage needed for the site to function (for example, keeping an admin logged in). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Embedded content such as Google Maps may set its own cookies subject to that provider's privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Order-tracking records are automatically removed from our website tracker within days after an order is picked up. Contact messages, customer profiles, POS synchronization records, invoices, business reports, and security logs are retained only as long as needed to provide services, maintain security, troubleshoot integrations, and meet legal or accounting requirements, then deleted or de-identified.

7. Your Privacy Rights (California & Other States)

If you are a resident of California or another state with a comprehensive privacy law (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others), you have the right to:

  • Know / Access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, purposes, and third parties with whom it was shared;
  • Delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request;
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information beyond what is permitted by law;
  • Non-discrimination — we will never deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including phone-number verification before releasing any order information, rate limiting, and restricted admin access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Do Not Track

Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals to the extent required by law; since we do not sell or share personal information, no additional action is triggered by such signals.
